OPERATIONS AND ADMINISTRATION LEAD (Full-time position, based in Canberra)
Are you an enthusiastic, innovative and conscientious manager who wants to join the national ministry support team of a global ministry at an important time of transition? The role will use your skills, leadership capability and talent for a kingdom purpose – one that changes lives, restores hope and builds momentum.
Working closely with the National Executive Director, the National Operations Manager and our expanding Strategic Partnerships and Communications teams, you will support the ministry’s leadership in key operational and administrative matters.
The Gideons International in Australia (TGIA) is an Association of Christian business and professional men and their wives dedicated to winning others to Christ through associating together for service, sharing personal testimony, and by providing Bibles and New Testaments. While we are often recognized for our work with hotels, we also place and distribute Scriptures in strategic locations so they are available to those who want them, as well as to those who may not know they need them. We aspire to be an extension of the mission of the local church.
About the role
As the Operations and Administration Lead, you will help consolidate systems, processes and policies that foster relationships, strengthen foundations and generate engagement, impact and action in the mission of winning others to Christ. The role requires outstanding people skills, communication skills and innovation and will focus on building a healthy team culture and achieving increased organisational performance.
Skills and Experience
We are looking for a motivated individual who is confident juggling multiple tasks and working within a ministry office environment.
Your role will have key areas of responsibility including:
- Member services,
- National office efficiency,
- Scripture and merchandise logistics,
- Special projects,
- Executive support,
- National priorities and events
As the successful candidate you will have:
- A strong and vibrant Christian faith
- Operations and administration experience in a team environment
- Awareness of Christian NFP landscape and voluntary ministry
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Where specific skills, qualifications or experience are lacking, an expression of willingness and desire to grow in those areas will be essential. Salary will be commensurate with your experience.
